Our mission and goals
Mission
To build the capability of individuals, communities and organisations to prevent, recognise and reduce the adverse mental health effects of trauma. We will achieve this through world class research, service development and education.
Our goals support this mission:
Goal 1: To be the world’s leading source of expert advice on issues pertaining to posttraumatic mental health
Goal 2: To be the major contributor to improved practice in assessment, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation interventions for posttraumatic mental health problems in our constituent groups
Goal 3: To conduct world class research in the field of posttraumatic mental health and to disseminate the findings
Goal 4: To increase awareness, knowledge and skills in the area of posttraumatic mental health among defined populations, as well as in the area of general mental health within veteran and military populations
Goal 5: To ensure that the Australian Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health maintains best business practice and governance arrangements
